System Clock

* Its a electronic device that synchronizes the the components inside a computer. All the pulses are the same in the system clock. It also has a steady signal.

Scanner

* A scanner is a electronic system that is used for copying or color images or black and white for proofing or printing.

Read - only memory (ROM)

* Its a type of computer memory in which programs and any other type of stuff are permanent stored. Unlike a ram you can not change this data. The ROM is usually on electronic chips.

Random access memory (RAM)

* RAM is a type of computer data storage. This memory is available to you and you can create it, a program can be running, and something can be loading. It allows stored data to be seen in any sequence. It holds all the information.

Pointer

* A pointer is a identifier that gives the location in which data is stored. It basically shows you on the computer screen where you are clicking or where the data is literally stored.

Plotter

* A plotter is used for computer printing. Computer plotters are used in applications in computer design. Now a days plotters have been replaced so people don't really use them. A plotter works by moving a pen across a piece of paper.

Out -put devices

* An output device is any computer hardware that is processing data and is carried out by a information processing system to the outside. For example speakers and printers are output devices.

Optical Storage Device

* A optical storage device is a device that is electro-mechanical that can write and read data on a special type of disk that uses a laser light.

Non impact printers

* A non impact printer is a printer that does not work by striking a head. For example a non impact printer could be a printer that are laser or ink jet printers.

Mouse: network drive

* A mouse is a device that detects by the motion on a surface. A mouse could have one or more buttons and sometimes a wheel. The motion of the mouse translates into the motion of the cursor on the computer screen and it gives it a good control. A network drive could be a disk or a tape that is connected to a server on the network. It can also be shared by various people.

Mother Board

* The mother board is a PCB that holds many components to a computer while it provides connectors to other peripherals. The mother board can also be called the main board.

Main Memory: Memory

* The main memory is what stores the data and programs while it is being processed.

Instruction Cycle ( I cycle): keyboard

* An instruction cycle also called fetch and execute cycle is a time period during which a computer processes a machine language instruction from its memory or the sequence of action that the central processing unit performs to execute each machine code instruction in a program. A keyboard is a piece of hardware that has keys in it and when you press the button it send the information to the computer.

Input Devices

* Is any peripheral used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer. In- put and Out -put make up the hardware interface between a computer as a scanner.

Impact Printers

* Impact printers use a print head containing a number of metal pins which strike an ink ribbon placed between the print head and the paper. some print head have only 9 pins to make the dots to build up a character; some have 24 pins which produced a better resolution.

Execution Cycle(E cycle): Hard Disk Drive

* The hard disk drive is the main, and usually largest, data storage device in a computer. The operating system, software titles and most other files are stored in your hard disk drive. When a computer obeys the instruction in the computer program it is said to be running or executing the program.

DVD

* An optical disk that can store a very large amount of digital data. As text, music, or images.

Controller

*A device that you connect to the computer.

Central Processing Unit (CPU)

*A central processing unit is responsible for interpreting and executing most of the commands from the computers hardware and software. It is also called the brain of the computer.

Cd-Rom

* Is a drive that uses a laser to read disk like DVD s and CD's. There are also Cd burners that have a special laser in it that can burn information on to a optical disk.

Byte

* A byte is a combination of bits in a computer which is usually 8 that is processed by a computer as a unit.

Bit

*A bit is the smallest unit of information on a machine. This term was first used in 1946 by John Tuckui.

American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII):

* Its a code that is used for characters in a computer and it can also be sent to other computers.

What are the parts of a computer?

*; What are the parts of a Computer??
- The parts of a a computer is a memory, hard disk , modem, power supply, CD-Rom drive, heat sink, mother board, and graphic cards.

*; Name 5 types of computers??
- One type of a computer is a television. Another type of computer is a PC. Cars could also be a type of computer. The Altair 8800 was one of the first computers made by Ed Roberts. Also another type of computer could be any type of electronic.

What is a computer?

*; A computer is a device that transfers data in a fast time. It use to be really big before like the size of a building but with time it got smaller. A computer holds a lot of information. The computer was first created around 600 b.c. it was really big , bigger then a building. By like the 80's it got to the size of like a building. then they discovered that they didn't need that many things. So they made it smaller.
